About

Web developer by trade, field engineer by experience.

I started out building web applications and running servers, and I still do both. Since 2021 that has meant full-stack work in TypeScript and Node.js, plus looking after the network and infrastructure behind a public marketplace.

In 2026 I moved into field engineering: deploying enterprise UHF RFID hardware for access control at live events for international sports organisations and national charity events. It taught me a lot about debugging the things software can't see, like RF interference, flaky networks, and a venue that opens in an hour.

Alongside that I take on freelance projects, and I'm currently looking for my next role.

Outside of work

I volunteer as a map editor for Waze, improving road data and helping keep the map accurate for the people who rely on it. It has shaped some of my side projects, particularly userscripts that make editing faster and less error-prone.

Volunteer work is ongoing and not affiliated with my professional roles.
